Creating Headings in Photoshop

The Promotional Video has different sections, and with each section a screen was wanted with the name of the section, and a related background.

Through the reliable method of trial and error, it was decided that using Photoshop the first frame of each section would be held still, and with a visual effect / filter over the image and the text explaining the section, this still shot would then transition into the beginning of the section.

Unfortunately I had never really been too happy with using Adobe Photoshop, so this provided a perfect opportunity to increase my Photoshop skills and enhance myself as a multimedia practitioner.

The process was as follows:

The still shot of the first clip was used and opened in photoshop:



By selected the Filter Section, apply the 'Cutout' Filter, and the following options:



The original picture is transformed into a unique style which allows the transition to work well:



This completes the simple yet effective Photoshop work. The text is added by creating a 'title' in Adobe Premier Pro, as is the transition from one screen to the other:
