Despite the previously documented problems with the production of artefact: one, the show effectively must still go on.
The re-worked idea of the news article had to be very short so that all the footage could be recorded without the ageing camera signing off for the last time. The written idea for the visual news article has been documented below:
1 – Shot of outside, the rain, poor weather conditions
VO – The mayor of Nottingham has insisted it’s residents remain indoors due to the constant flooding and hazardous weather outside.
2 – CUT to different shot of outside, with the poor weather conditions
VO – Whilst this situation has become unavoidable, the local residents in the area have little choice but to wait until the weather improves.
3 – CUT to man sitting in armchair on his own, looking frustrated
VO – Local resident Kevin has not been to work in three days, and has little to do until the mayor has given the all clear.
4 – CUT to cupboard in the kitchen, with the supplies of food which have been kept for days like today.
VO – Local residents were told to stock up on essential foods last week, with the predicted weather on its way.
5 – CUT to interview with man standing above the sofa, talking about the conditions
VO – It is very frustrating. I have not been to work in days, and the weather is not forecast to stop for days.
6 – CUT to shot through window of outside, looking to the future.
VO – All local residents can do is sit and wait, and hope for weather to finally clear.
