First Advert Edit Discussed With Tutor

The meeting with my tutor was very beneficial.

The first completed edited version of the insect repellent advert was completed, and this was what was discussed in the aforementioned meeting.

Over all the concept and story of the advert was agreeably a good idea, there were just a few changes that were discussed that ultimately it was decided would make the advert better.

The main problem with the edited version was the continuity within the second scene. The cut shot of the actor spraying of the repellent does not work incoherence with the shots before and afterwards. This shot will be re-shot with a few more specific detailed changes which have been noted down.

The first part of the second scene is also going to be re-shot. It was agreed that the positioning of the props and the actor could look better if it was the shot was a slightly wider one, and the actor’s whole body was within the frame of the shot.
With these changes in mind, a few more props will be added to add another sense of realism and specificity to the advert, whilst making sure the advert does not look too professional, as this would lessen the image of the concept of the advert.

Whilst NOT being allowed to use lighting by the Nottingham Trent staff for the filming of the advert previously, I am going to make sure that this time I will be allowed to use lighting. On the first shooting of the advert fortunately the weather was good, which did add some lighting into the shot, however with the additional use of one light, the shadows on the background wall during the second and third scenes should add another dimension of accuracy.
